Guest Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Hi again, so at the weekend i decided to go the DAS route, made and few phone calls today and my local drving school will only do individual lessons or sell a block of 20 hours at £400, they think that the typical learner takes 8-10 lesson to get to the standard to pass. Is this resonable? So would i be looking at 10 lessons then another 3 to cover mod 1 and 2 Quote
Guest Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 No thats rediculous. where i live they have 4-6 day sessions and most of them pass first time you do your cbt day 1 out on the road day 2 practicing for mod 1 thats normally booked for day three or four then the rest if you pass if for mod 2 Quote
Guest Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I have passed my cbt, but according to them it isnt feasible with the new test to book a structured week fo training. It sounded a bit dodgy to me Quote
iiisecondcreep Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 depends on the individual really. Might take you more, might take you less! If you just pay-as-you-go (this is what I did), it doesn't really matter. Quote
stevie16v Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I done mine with bike-it in paisley. Albeit, it was well before the 2 part test, they done blocks of a week including your test, the way it worked i think the test was the following tuesday, just the way the test centre there worked their days. In fact they have a place in kirkcaldy aswell. Here's the link, Really decent guys/girls toohttp://www.passwithbikeit.co.uk/prices.htm Quote
Stuno1 Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Seems a lot. I am doing a 6 session DAS. One of those sessions is used for the Cbt and I passed my mod1. So Cbt and 5 lessons with one brief mod 1 practice session. The mod 1 session is 30 minutes at my school. Each of the 5 sessions is 4 hours long.Stu Quote
iWannaGoFast Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Did my CBT, ped for a year and a bit. Then 1/2 day 50cc to geared 125 conversion day. Then 1 day practice for MOD 1, and 1 day practice for MOD 2. Passed Mod 1 first time and Mod 2 second time. Quote
getready Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 A lot of places will try to sell you a set number of days, before assessing your ability. I found this on my initial telephone enquiries. Some people need more time, others need less, that's the way it works!I'd shop around other training schools and ask for someone to assess your level of riding on a taster session, or a CBT if you don't already have one.I booked my CBT (with Mercury in Bolton) and asked to be assessed for DAS on the road ride, which they gladly obliged. I was told I needed a two day DAS which I did on consecutive days, then Mod 1 on the following week. Currently waiting for Mod 2 now. Quote
