majesty diaphram problem

Recommended Posts

Hi all, Im a newbie, got a 2000 majesty 125 yamaha.did repairs such as new brakes, tyres, plugs, but it was a poor starter and ticked over very slow and wouldnt rev until warm.

my mechanic said the diaphram had a tear which it did, so i got a used carb which didnt fit, so got a secondhand diaphram with again a tiny tear.

anyway it started easily but wouldnt rev when throttle open, he said the pin on diaphram was faulty.

now im lost, i may have to buy a new aftermarket part diaphram on ebay rather than a yamaha dealer, its all costing cash putting in a scrap part rather than a new bit, but will this aftermarket bit work or do i sell the bike as it is its got mot and tax or put this repair in.

Strip the carb , give it a good clean, check and blow through all the jets, fuel and airways. If it needs a new diaphragm, but a new one from a main dealer and get yer bike running. It's worth nothing if it aint running!!!

Agreed!! Buy a new diaphragm. If the others are ripped then a new one will eliminate that as a fault.

ordered an aftermarket diaphram from ebay, online shop, its new but not a genuine expensive yamaha diaphram, but all are garaunteed and still over 4 times the cost of a used part from scrapyard.
