If you have an interest in 70s/80s Sports Mopeds this is the event of the year.


The event is always well attended and the ride is a lot of fun.


The ride itself sets off from the Motorcycle Workshops at Bolney at 10 am but it is well worth getting here earlier just to look around the bikes.


The start point details are as follows: Motorcycle Workshops, London Rd, Bolney, West Sussex RH17 5PY


Here are some photos from the start at Bolney last year. I just wish that photos could capture the heavenly smell of two strokes and the sound of the biggest "moped gang" you've probably ever seen all setting off at once! :)

Wow!!! Some of those pics take me back to my yoof!!! Especially the fizzies - all the 'cool' blokes in my teens had one of those!!!



And yes, the GT750 is a beautiful bike!!! :D

Amazing event. I will be there if I can, waiting for a door of all things!


I have seen that 750 before I am sure of it. Think i had a chat with the owner of it at Brightona last year.

Yep, I think it was on that "Classic Jap " stand at Brightona with a few other kettles, too.


I'll dig out the route they are using this year and post it up later, then if you do decide to come a little later you can intercept the ride somewhere. :D

OK fail :(


There is no actual route pinned up on Fzzy talk forum, just some basic details:-


The pack will be leaving the Bat and Ball at 8am and heading off to the Chalet Café at Cowfold for breakfast Henfield Road, Cowfold, Horsham ( Postcode= RH13 8DU). At the same time the main pack will be forming at the Motorcycle Workshop in Bolney London Rd, Bolney, Haywards Heath, West Sussex RH17 5PY. We will depart from Bolney at 10am sharp for a 2 hour leisurely run to Brighton via some lovely countryside.


THIS YEAR WE WILL BE HEADING FOR BRIGHTON MARINA for a short stay before continuing on our run back to the Bat and Ball at Billingshurst. WE WILL NOT BE STOPPING AT THE MADEIRA DRIVE SEAFRONT. If you are coming for the day and can be all ready by 8am then come to the Bat and Ball and park up (free parking).

We will stop at a petrol station when departing Brighton. If you wish to head off by yourself please feel free! We will aim to be back at the Bat and Ball for 2pm where we can have a bit of a social and draw the 2011 Raffle!


I always get to the Motorcycle Workshops for about 9.30, leave after the pack and follow them through to the pub at Devil's Dyke then on to Brighton.


So I guess the pertinent meet points for the actual ride are:


Bolney Motorcycle Workshop to 10.00 am


Devil's Dyke pub: 10.30-11 ish (I guess?)


Brighton Marina 12-1 pm ish ?

That looks like a fun event...i had a FS1E when I was 16, and had mates with just about all of the sports mopeds shown there....great days. I made the mistake of describing the power of a friends YB100 as "uncontrolable"...I still get reminded of that particular error 35 years later :roll:
