Got this lid at the BMF in May. Been very pleased with it so far... :D

The following are just my opinions/observations

Good Points:

Very comfortable......lightest lid I've ever known

Good Ventilation......with the internal vents open I can feel the air coming through them

High Safety rating.....Sharp 5 star, ACU Gold etc

Nice carry holdall.....and also a carry sack

Thick visor.......good UV protection (even on the clear visor) with good scratch resistance and don't seem to steam up badly/at all either

Not so Good Points:

Wind Noise......can be noisy, so earplugs recommended

Vision.......sideways vision is a bit limited due to smallish opening

Visor opening......no lip on visor to help with opening and mechanism a bit stiff at first

Bit Expensive.....there are cheaper models available, but I wanted the Black/Orange one.

Light coloured lining.....can show dirt easily. But is removable/washable

I have no regrets with this lid....easily the best I have ever owned. Barely notice it even after 2-3 hours riding. No tight spots/pressure points....just a good overall fit for me.

Cheers,

Bob

love the look of this helmet! going to try a few on this weekend i think. Not many people wearing Bell helmets, in fact, i don't think i've seen anyone wearing a Bell helmet. They look so good though, and the quality seems to be right up there. Hope it fits my head nicely :)

Not many people wearing Bell helmets

First time I read this I saw "Not many wearing purple bell helmets". My eyes aren't what they used to be... :-)

Nice looking lid - I appreciate the review as I could do with a new one. Cheers Mr Tango!

well that's probably true as well, as i don't think Bell currently do a purple helmet

but yeah, it's a really nice looking lid, and helmetcity . co. uk are doing some at the moment with a bit of a reduction. i'm taking a trip down to their Chichester branch at the weekend (unfortunately not on the bike).

I should modify the review a little bit. I said that sideways vision is a bit limited....well, it is if you have shades on......but is perfectly fine without.......

Replacement visors are not cheap....but they are real thick material.....so they tend not to steam up too much......and,as I told dimmers, I've ridden in some pretty foul weather and on some pretty cold days and I didn't feel it needed a pinlock...... 8-)

The lid is still super comfy......and someone was telling me that they've got a 5 year warranty but I'm not sure how true that is......but he got the chinstrap replaced after he'd had the lid for about 3.5 years......

Good luck dimmers.....hope they've got your size and at a reasonable discount too...... 8-)
