This red light came on while I was out riding - all my manual tells me is its the fuel injection indicator light and I need to go to a dealer to have it looked at as troubles are occurring in the digital fuel injection system - anyone have any info on what this is or means?

Hi,

It does seem a bit random, turned back off and on and it went, then noticed when cruising at 70 on the motorway it would come back on, then once off the motorway pulled up in a bus stop, switched ignition off and on, then it dod=id not come back on at all when riding home on the A roads.

Bit of a puzzle? :?:

I had one of the first ERs (2006) which developed this error, the light would randomly come on when riding,, Turn the ignition off then on, light goes out,

under the seat, about were the seat retaining clips are, R/H side you will find two bullet connectors for the dealer to connect diagnostic unit,, on test the number of times the red light flash's indicates fault location,, Mine was in the ECU, unit changed & no more problems, ran as sweet as a nut till I PXd it 15000 later,,, think this was confined to the earlier models

My 2nd ER is still running sweet after 4 years & no faults

  • 3 years later...

Hi, just dragging up an old post as it seemed similar to my issue, hope nobody minds :-)

My 2007 ER6f has about 13k miles, and has the FI light coming on nearly every ride, after somewhere around 10-15 minutes. Bike still runs fine, and turn the ignition off and on again and light goes off, then comes on when next riding. The local bike shop has said no code stored, so am at a bit of a loss. Happy to get a used ECU off ebay to try this, but wondering if there's anything else I can try before forking out the cash...

Thanks! Dave
