Lumor_uk
i have a D buckle on a 2yr old helmet that is starting to fray quite badly. At what point do you decide new helmet or can you replace the strap?
Tango
I think you'd need to consider getting a new lid mate.....don't think the chin straps are replaceable.
TC
Have to agree with Tango sounds like a new lid Matbe you are pulled the strap at an angle when doing the strap up, maybe try pulling it at such an angle so it doesn't wear it out as much. Guest Hodgy
I don't know about other makes, but Arai will replace your strap, if you take it to an authorised Arai dealers, or visit one of their stands at most bike shows

Do you think they would replace the strap on another brand of helmet? I don't think it's the angle. I pull it tight around my neck. It's on/off 20+ times a week. I had mine replaced at an Arai mobile service centre at the Butlins Skegness bike show, the original had been frayed because of velcro on my jacket collar, I think it was still safe, but it looked very untidy, they replaced it free of charge.Another reason to buy a quality lid

But there is no harm in asking I suppose
Colin the Bear
2 years doing an occassional sunday rideout is fine for a helmet. 2 years daily use and it's getting done. The inside wears out before the outside shows signs of wear. I'd be looking to replace it.
