Honda NS125R - all lights flashing!!

Hi,

I'm new to biking, and got myself a old NS125R a couple of months ago. Did my CBT, and I've been really enjoying it. Don't know why I didn't do it earlier!!

The problem with the bike is that, because its old, its having a few problems. Just spent a bit of money getting the chain and sprockets sorted, and front fork seals, and now its developed another problem!!

Before the CBT, I made sure all the basic things were right - the oil level, tyre pressures, etc. etc. Unfortunately, whilst doing the car-park bit of the CBT, the oil light came on, and stayed on. When I got out on the road, the light went off, and all was well.

Now I'm find that the oil light is staying on all the time, and when I switch on the indicators, everything starts flashing - the oil light, the headlamp, the rear light, the indicators, the neutral light. If I'm stuck at traffic lights, the oil light goes out, but as soon as I rev it, it comes on again, and gets brighter the more I open it up.

I haven't got a clue where to begin looking, so any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for your replies.

Went to Halfords at the weekend, and picked up a tin of stuff to squirt onto the battery terminals. Seems to have improved the situation. The headlamp dims and brightens very slightly when I indicate now - but nothing else is getting too excited anymore!!!

I'm not all that familiar with 2 strokes, but I did wonder if the NSR would have a similar regulator/Rectifier set up as bigger, 4 strokes ... ??

Also, an Optimate charger (or other good make charger) would make a good buy - specially this time of year ..

:D
