CG rev problem

Hi , just fitted new throttle cable that runs smoothly as it should. Bike rides fine but when i stop on tickover the revs build up slowly to a peak and then die down again. Also when gear changing and throttling down , the revs stay high? No sticking cable and float is free running . Bike only revs high when i stop only on occasion , but not always . Had lots of bike previous so i know it's not my riding... any ideas ? The bike was the same before i fitted new cable .... Cheers Pete :?

sounds to me like a sticky cable or throttle on handlebar or mixture of fuel.........if cables are new and moving freely (not being pinched at some point) then make sure the slide is moving freely up and down in the carb check condition of air filter
