Guest Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 With car driving, I can supervise while my wife drives on L plates in our car, can the same thing be done on a bike? Get my mate Rhys to pillion or ride behind with me on L plates? Quote
iiisecondcreep Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 No, unless its a 125 you can only ride your bike on a public highway with an instructor. Quote
Tango Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 You can only carry a pillion when you have your full license as far as I'm aware.......but you can ride a 125 with L-plates on your own unsupervised once you have passed your CBT..... Quote
Throttled Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 You cannot have a pillion with L Plates, so that option is out. You can ride a 125cc on L Plates on your own after CBT and on the provisional licence. There is nothing to stop you from setting up a coms system whereby you are in radio contact with another rider, so your mate could follow you around whilst you chat. If you are going to be riding a bigger big with the Direct Access Scheme you have to be in radio contact with a qualified instructor. Quote
