Historic A1 licence - confused as hell!

Arrrgh, this is giving me a headache, can anyone help....

I took the A1 test back in 2007 and have been riding a 125cc ever since.

I was recently advised by the guys at Metropolis that, back then, the A1 125cc restriction automatically lifted after 2 years and enabled full cat A. Does anyone know if that was the case. I can't find anything online as all info has been replaced with 2013 changes.

I tried the DVLA but they didn't know and suggested I send my licence in to them with a cover letter and they will investigate - helpful!!!

Many thanks in advance.

Thanks Joeman, I saw that page earlier, but I guess if the historic A1 upgraded to A after two years, then I would have had an A licence. Why have they made it so confusing

I guess I'm hoping someone here might remember what the restrictions were back then as DVLA sure can't!

Try using the internet "way back machine" (Google it) to view old copies of websites.

If you're lucky you might be able to pull up old pages from the year you passed your test.
