Wearing-in leathers!

Recommended Posts

So to go with my nice new BIG bike I decided to treat myself to some nice RST leathers!

They fit great, look great & all protection is in the right place, the only problem is that they are soooooooooo uncomfortable!

I have bought a two piece and was told to buy it a bit snug as they would give over time. So far this week have been wearing the trousers to watch tv in in the evenings  Someone has suggested getting them wet whilst wearing them. Any other suggestions to make them more comfortable quickly????

Can't think of any except just wear them a bit - doing some squats might help.

I've got a 2 piece RST and the jeans (which I don't wear much) still threaten to cut me in half if I shift about too much.

Don't know that getting them wet will help - doesn't leather shrink when it's wet?

Leather shrinks over the winter while wearing textiles

Just keep wearing them, I would suggest while on the bike not watching TV, you sit in a different position on the bike.

Get yourself several tins of dubbin and apply a coat each day too, that should help to make them more supple and ensure waterproofing.

Hmmmmmmmm, I was worried they may be a bit too small. When walking about they feel fine, just sitting in the riding position they feel a bit snug.

I've been to two shops and tried on the same trousers in the same size to be told that they were definitely the right size for me. I think they just need to loosen up a bit............... hopefully :?

My last leather trousers have stretched quite a lot, but they were very soft leather.

Looks like I'm on a diet, and off to but some leather conditioner!
