Installing a MLS replacement head gasket

Hi,

I'm rebuilding my Honda Fireblade 900 RRS. The original head gasket was OEM - a single layer composite fibre/steel gasket that have been around for years.

The head has been skimmed and the new head gasket that I have is a Vesrah 3 layer steel gasket (with the layers held together with rivets). It looks plain with no coatings on any of the layers. Do I need to use any type of sealant on the surfaces when rebuilding the head ?

Cheers

Welcome to TMBF mate.......pop over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself to the guys when you can...... 8-)

I've never heard of using sealant with a head gasket.......normally the pressures are so high that the sealant would just blow out.......but others may know different...... 8-)
