Guest
hi I'm looking to buy my first set of leathers and have narrowed it down to 2 pairs the RST track tech Evo one or the alpinestar orbiter but carn't decide what to get, just wondered what you's lads would recommend and which are the best quality etc etc or do you recommend anything else in the same price range? Thanks in advance
fq-craigus
No experience of either but as far as im aware either will do the job well. It will come down to style and design. Both good brands, some may argue alpinestars are better as they usually more expensive
Mr Fro
I've had an RST 2-piece for 5-6 years. It's still absolutely fine with no broken zips or anything despite how much stuff I've jammed in the pockets over the years. The jacket sees everyday use with the jeans getting weekend use.My only gripe with them is the length of the jeans - they come up a bit short on me as I'm 32 waist/34 leg which means the knee sliders don't sit quite right. Otherwise I'm we'll impressed with them.
Joeman
Another RST owner here with no complaints.Sounds like you're considering getting a one piece suit. If its for the road, its more convenient to have a two piece that zips together.

Guest
Thanks for the advice lads, I'm going to use them for road use and the occasional track day, when I say road I mean on a weekend when the suns shining, so quality wise not much difference between RST and alpinestars just the price, I'm also after new boots and tried some TCX ones on that felt really comfy are these any good or am I better buying sidi or alpinestars? Thanks in advance

Tango
I've got Sidi Black Rain Evo's......which are ok......but they're not so waterproof now... TCX boots gets some good reviews.......supposed to be pretty tough.......read a book where the guy wore a pair of TCX Infinity boots on his round the world trip.....and was still using them after he'd got back...... I can highly recommend TCX boots.
