caliper rust

well, not rust, but white spots.

They appeared last winter, probably due to salt starting to corrode through the paint, but I couldn't remove it with any sort of cleaner.

I decided to repaint them, bought the paint (it's gloss, which doesn't look as good) and sand paper.

The first step though, is to decrease them, so a bit of brake cleaner on it and even the white has come off now.

The question is, will it come back as soon as it gets wet, or should I repaint anyway?
