Shoei Qwest - Wind in eyes!

Recommended Posts

Anyone else with this helmet that has managed to ride around with it cracked open just a little?

The visor is on a ratchet so i don't have too much control on how much it is cracked open by, if that makes sense. But if i open it as little as possible i just get wind straight into my eyes. Seems i can only open all the way up or close fully. Annoying!

I have played around with that, it does push the visor forward a little, but not enough to get much air through, plus the ratchet mechanism is still engaged regardless of whether its 'locked' or not.

Maybe ill have another play around with it.

Its a case of allowing some air into the helmet without my eyes being blasted.

Can you not open the vents up? If I open all mine (Shoei something or other) I get a nice steady flow over the old noggin.

Thats what the vents are there for, cracking the visor isnt ideal as your finding. Unfortunatly its another case of not being able to test a lid before you buy there is always niggles with all lids. If i had the money i would open a bike shop with an air blaster so people can put a lid on and stand it a jet of air simulating 30mph or 60mph, i have visions of people travelling far and wide :)
