There seem to be M1 and M6, which one should I take? I'm just interested in getting there as early as possible and avoid traffic/roadworks.On the other hand, I want to come through Peak District on return; any thoughts on that?? nikolees Posted March 2, 2015 Author Share Posted March 2, 2015 Got back yesterday through Macclesfield-Buxton and it was great, scenery and road!And I was fortunate enough not to have rain until I got past it...but then it was another 3 hours of rain and wind and spray on the M1...Strongly recommended for anyone that hasn't been there.
