just got my bike all back together and had the carbs balanced at the moment its got k+N air filters on it and i,ve been told it s getting to much air intake ,and it would run far better with a standard air box back on it or even a set of bellmouths on it (the type with wire gause on ends of them).anyone got any ideas and what size bellmouths would fit..... :D

I would agreee that unless you have changed the fueling (jets) then K&Ns will make the bike run lean.

However if you fit just bell mouths then it will run even leaner!!!!! are you sure the guy didnt mean to fit the original airbox and filter with bellmouths inside?

if you fit bellmouths you will defo have to change the fueling and you will be running more risk of damage than with the K&Ns.

nope he said fit one or the other .....whats happening is its running fine but when you pull up for a minute then try and set off its real lumpy and loses revs but if you thinks going back standard ....weres best fleabay

you must have heard him wrong m8. bellmouths are no filter, just straight

though, try a cheap filter and not the K&N, it might restrict your air intake

a bit more than the K&N's

I had a 750 slingshot with exactly that symptom.

I was really busy at work and sent it to a garage to be repaired.

He diagnosed exactly the same as your man.

However it made no difference and I ended up sorting it myself. It was a dodgy coil.

Wouldnt have thought that playing with the air filters will make that much difference on lower revs.
