Mopeds are little things and tend to be used for commuting and about the town.

So how far would they run constant for before blowing upor something daft?

Don`t mean to sound naive but how about a 23 mile run from Crewe to Wem?

All answers appreciated.

I had a colleague who used to commute from Guildford to Whitehall (over 30 miles) on a 50cc moped. Ithink the journey took him about 1hr 20mins. He was doing this when I first met him in June 1980 and he still had the same machine when I left in March 1984.

It's an engine. Look after it and it will look after you.

I had a mate who used to do a 70 mile daily round trip to work and back on his 50cc scooter, and it was fine for the 2 years I knew him.

I rode all around wales on my AP50 30 years ago i had to keep swapping the spark plug but apart from that it was fine.

I also rode a Puch Maxi, 49cc twist and go, from near portsmouth to telford (180 miles) only stopping for fags and coffee, ( 10 and a bit hours!) the moped was fine I wasn't!
