MarkW Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Evening all!I'll be driving up from Folkestone one day next week on my way back from Germany, and fancy spending the day in London. Is there a tube station with decent car parking somewhere outside the congestion charge zone to the south or south east?Cheers! Quote
TheJamesH1 Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 There isn't a Tube station in West Wickham. If you're heading south east you might be better off going on the London Overground - which is the orange line on the Tube map. You could park in a side street around Crystal Palace, Penge, Sydenham, and get on the Jubilee Line at Canada Water. Not many Tube stations in south east London, and I can't think of any with car parks. Quote
Tango Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 There's a open parking and hand car wash place near to Bromley-by-Bow tube station.....just off the Blackwall Tunnel approach north of the river......think it's £5 a day or thereabouts. There's also on street parking on the back streets near the Royal London Hosp (pay by phone) with Whitechapel tube station over the road from the front of the hospital..... Quote
JRH Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Woolwich Arsenal DLR is probably the only station south east of the river with a car park. Shares the line with south east rail. Quote
Guest Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 I always park at North Greenwich - The O2 - or as it was, The Dome. It's about £12.00 all day and you're on the Jubilee line or if it is a sunny day I prefer to go up to Embankment pier by a Thames Clipper which are just a couple of hundred yards from the O2 Dome. Coffee on board. Quote
MrBrightside Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Mate I know a nice little residential area in Wanstead. Right next to the station (central line) and right by the A406 & A12 & M11, so getting out of London very easy. Quote
MarkW Posted May 8, 2016 Author Posted May 8, 2016 Thanks guys!Mr B, that sounds ideal. Can you divulge the location or shall I PM you? Quote
Grumpy Old Git Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 OK it is not a 'tube' sation but you can access the London Underground from it without having to cahnge / buy another ticket:West Wickham railway station serves West Wickham in the London Borough of Bromley. It is located in south east London and is in Travelcard Zone 5. The station is operated by Southeastern and is served by Southeastern Hayes line trains. Quote
