Handlebars - drill holes or cut nubbins

Recommended Posts

Bought some generic bars to replace some bent ones, switchgear has a nubbin which fits in a whole on the old bars

Trying to think of a way to solve it, any thoughts? Trying to decide whether to try and drill a whole in the bars, or grind off the nubbin and just rely on them being done up tight enough to keep them still.

Personally I wouldn't drill the bars......cut the lugs off the switchgear and then wrap some electrical tape around the bar for the switchgear to clamp onto.....

I have drilled several sets, very easy and if its ok for manufacturers its ok for me.

Cut the nubbins and the switchgear will always move around.

Did you have a particular trick for getting the holes in the right place?

Put a dob of lipstick on the nubbin and press it on the bar where you want the switch gear to sit.

NB - Grammar Police will be all over you soon - you can drill a hole but please do not try to drill a whole.
