AlexWalker Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 Hi all,I have a 2003 Suzuki Marauder 125cc, I put the fuel tank switch to off instead of reserve. Obviously it spluttered and died but it started up again after I had got some fuel back in the system. Very annoyed at myself! However now it won't start with the electric start from cold - starter motor ticks over but no joy - and I have to roll down hill then engage engine in second gear for it to start. Strangely once it is running, if I turn it off then the electric start will get it going!Any ideas? Bike seems fine when running. I have tried switching on and off repeatedly before starting and choke doesn't help...Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated as I am new to bikes! Thanks,Alex Quote
Tango Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 Welcome to TMBF Alex......pop over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself to the guys when you can...... Sounds like your battery is not holding a charge......New battery time I think..... Quote
AlexWalker Posted September 29, 2016 Author Posted September 29, 2016 Thanks, will do - after 2 days of bump starting it fired up today short journeys must not have been charging it enough after I ran it down the other day!Hopefully it lasts Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 take it for a 20 mile or more run that will put some charge back into it if it does it again then you need to get multi-meter out and start testing battery and power draw on trying to start up Quote
