JRH Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Some also require you to have a couple of standing orders or direct debits set up aswell Quote
tuktuk Posted January 28, 2017 Author Posted January 28, 2017 Im not too fussed about who im with but dont want to negatively impact my credit file. Is that a possible in switching accounts? Rarely use any form of credit but do remember they question how long you have been with bank. Quote
MR_W Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 I tried to switch so HSBC and they screwed up the move as well as misled me on a mortgage. They could offer me £200,000 and I wouldn't touch them ever again. Quote

Clearscore.com is a very good free service. Nothing to stop you having multiple current accounts (I've got about 4 at the moment) when asked how long I've held my current account I always quote my oldest which I've also memorised the account details for which makes filling out forms much quicker.Having multiple sources of available credit, like a few accounts with overdraft facilities will boost your credit score as it shows you don't need to use it.
