Liveware Problem
Haha this thread has really brought put the best in everyone I'm with the replace it crowd. Also, there are some really nice deals on Held helmets here just now... http://www.getgeared.co.uk/type/full-face-helmets/for/men? I'm tempted, and I don't really need a new one! I like the look of those, but I'm not confident of buying a helmet online without fitting. Also I'm still waiting for some boots I ordered from them back in December
Mawsley
Question - does anybody have experience of buying an Arai where the shop actually tried out different cheek pads?I've never known anyone to do this in-store. Yes hein gericke that used to be here did it but they did not sell the pads directly you had to order them in they would have spares to use My new Arai has pads where you can remove a layer of the foam in the cheek pad Cheers Stu, I'm going to hunt around for somewhere localish then. Tried one on once and it didn't fit the shape of my head, always believed the story that "you have a head to fit Arais or a head to fit Shoeis." Never realised you could custom the fit. There is not many places that have the cheek pads though so I would ring them first The best place is the bike shows when Arai is there
Arwen
Question - does anybody have experience of buying an Arai where the shop actually tried out different cheek pads?I've never known anyone to do this in-store. My local shop did simmilar when I was buying my agv. They had a selection of "spare pads" and when trying on their demo helmets we changed them out. Once I settled on which was most comfortable they ordered that size of helmet and those cheek pads.
fq-craigus
Wow this escalated. Where have i been since I commented. Well I know what I'm doing when I finish writing this reply....... I'm getting my resin and filler out to repair my old helmet ready for spring. Bottom line Painkiller if you go down in your lid and it touches the deck it should be considered toast. It may or may not have damaged internal structure and it may have cost £1000 but even a lid for a grand it's only good once (which is why imo you shouldn't spend a grand but hey ho) If the tanks the British army are u using are mended with epoxy resin then we are screwed! I never have much joy with that stuff and I only work on trucks Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Not that there's anything wrong with them, I'd just prefer more choice
Gin
Question - does anybody have experience of buying an Arai where the shop actually tried out different cheek pads?My new Arai has pads where you can remove a layer of the foam in the cheek pad My shoei has easily removable cheek pads, I've been thinking for a while I need to take them out and squidge them a bit as they're a bit tight just in front of my ears after about 3hrs! Might look for different pads now, didn't know this was a thing My lids got a hole in the bottom That's to let the water out in case you jet wash it.....Pfft, f**k off... Everyone knows the proper way to clean your lid is to go to a laundrette and throw it in one of those big ol' washing machines!
