Guest Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Hi All - i really hope someone can provide some advice - i recently bought a BMW G650GS 2012 privately. MOT was on Saturday passed fine. It starts perfectly when it's cold - but when it's hot it just turns over - can someone please shed some light? Apparently it's a common problem with compression with this model but all the threads im finding backdate to 2012 - does anyone know of a fix? Many Thanks, Jade. Quote
Gerontious Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 If I remember rightly this problem was subject to a PUMA.. and so what that means is it was a recognised problem but to avoid a worldwide recall... they only fixed bikes that get the problem - because not all did.it might be worthwhile contacting a dealership and asking if your bike has had the fix.. and if not, can anything be done. They will want your VIN number.. so have that handy when you call. it used to be the case that BMW would pay for fixes like this after the warranty had expired... because its a known issue. so its worth asking. fastbob Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 I bet this is a sensor related problem. Quote
