tomh65 Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 I bought some Nankai waterproof trousers. At first they were great, textile outer, and quilted inners. After a couple of years, they now let in rain water even through the knees. I sprayed them with some waterproofing camping spray. That didn't work very well. I also sprayed my textile gloves with the same agent, but my hands still get wet through the gloves.Has anyone got any idea of a product that actually DOES work for waterproofing textiles? Quote
bmwdave Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 I had similar problem, bought a two bottle process from Hunts motorcycles last year. Cost about £10-15 the 1st bottle was a deep wash then the 2nd did the waterproofing. Had to take all the lining and proteectors out which was a pain. That was last summer and it did a decent job, huge improvement in water resistance, but not 100%. I will proabbly use it again if I need to at the end of the summer. Sorry I cant remember the name of it. Could probably phone them tomorrow and find out if you want. Quote
Stu Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 I got some nikwax for some textile trousers and it worked a treat you put them in the washer though so check you can machine wash them first Quote
Lateralus Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 +1 for Nikwax. They do something to wash the clothes with then a second one to treat them. Use it on all my cycling, skiing, walking gear. Quote
