Crummer Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Hi, can any sparky bikers help me out with wiring up two auxiliary spots on my Yamaha XVS? I have two auxiliary spots with both heads and dips, I know I'm going to need a relay alright but that's about it, thanks Quote
Stu Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Hi and welcome to the forum Are you wanting them to run independently or in line with the headlights? Quote
Crummer Posted April 16, 2017 Author Posted April 16, 2017 In line with the headlight it's self, I want the dips to come on with dips and heads to come on with heads or just the heads to come on with the heads if it is they only way to do it.Attached is the existing wiring (I have the headlight off) and in my hand is the wiring for the new lamps. Cheers for the quick reply Quote
Stu Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 pretty easy to figure out then you need two relays one for high and one for low beam You tap in to the existing wiring to activate the relays and run power from the battery for the new lights Quote
Crummer Posted April 16, 2017 Author Posted April 16, 2017 Thanks, only thing is I have 5 wires for each light, the green, white and blue and then the other two with conectors on the end. Which goes where and into the white thing or the black thing? And does each spot get wired independntly or togther as one. Sorry I am complete noob in this field Quote
Crummer Posted April 16, 2017 Author Posted April 16, 2017 Yup, keeping what's there just adding the two extra each sides Quote
Stu Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Right ok First of all you need to get rid of that connector block and have some sort of permanent fix like soldering those wires You could probably wire your new wiring to that too Quote
Crummer Posted April 16, 2017 Author Posted April 16, 2017 Thanks, should be able to figure it out for here thanks for your help Quote
Stu Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 you will need to figure out what is the live feed for the high and low but thats easy enough Quote
Crummer Posted April 16, 2017 Author Posted April 16, 2017 I should get that with the multimeter Quote
