achanakbhayank
So I wanted to start learning how to ride bike and eventually I have to take safety course right? But msf doesn’t have any class around me closer than 250 mile (I live in san jose bay area) so I went and found other safety course classes around my house and when I’m singing up they all want my driving license number and it’s required, But I don’t have one! What should I do?
geofferz
Welcome. Someone might know but this is mainly UK members - I know nothing about US licence requirements. I did start googling and found this unprofessional looking site http://motorcycleinstructionsanjose.com/hello-world/ but got confused quickly. https://www.dmv.org/ca-california/motorcycle-license.php
JRH
Welcome to the forum.I think that in the States you have to have a car driving license first and the motor bike is an addition. But our States side rep RantMachine will probably know more.

RantMachine
Varies by state! In Colorado a bike license is an endorsement on a car license, and I believe in New York it's a stand-alone license (no car required). Don't know any others off hand!
