Guest jimmylad455 Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 My bikes not been starting recently properly, turns out after doing a few checks the starter motor wasnt working great,so today took it off the bike and stripped in down.It were full of runny gung, like watered down copperslip.cleaned it all up, took all brushes out and springs etc to give it a good clean. The brushes are very worn, but still put it back together to see if it worked anyway. It didnt! it wouldnt spin to kick it into life, just made a high pitched whine.does anyone know if you can buy replacement brushes for sed starter motor or do i have to buy a recon/new starter motor. The bikes a 51plate kawasaki zx6r ninja j2.Either that or has someone got a trashed zx6r that i could beg steal or borrow the starter motor from. hee hee!!!!any advice would be greatfully received.
