Triumph Stand

Recommended Posts

For the Bobber I use a cheap scissor jack I got from Amazon.

It's the Oypla 500kg Motorcycle Jack - cost me £42 and it lifts the Bobber nice and steady. The only change I made was to use my socket rachet to operate it rather than the box spanner that comes with it.

I bought a Sealey one off ebay. About £40. Adjustable and esy to use.

Search under cruiser centre stand .

Wot MW said.... I got one for doing the chain on.... my....... you've just realised about the name............ Speedmaster....... (it wasn't too bad actually, and would piss all over these new Euro 4/5 ones or whatever they are....) anybody actually wonder how Triumph achieved the feat of going from 790cc 61bhp to 1200cc 53bhp? Answers on a postcard, please....

The 1200 in the Speedmaster puts out 76bhp - but that figure is pretty meaningless because it's the torque of the engine that makes it shift rather more swiftly than people think. I have the same engine in the Bobber and it doesn't hang around.

You're not wrong.....when I first got the Speedy, I made the mistake of riding it like an old Meriden twin.......but I very soon found out that when you gave it a bit of a wringing out and got the rpm up, did the bloody thing shift.... yes, if you exercised the right wrist, you were duly rewarded......but I think the reduction in power was due to emissions controls and the like.
