fastbob
Hi all,Can anyone recommend anything to remove or improve salt stained wheels? Can you show us exactly what you mean please?
raesewell
It depends a lot on what the wheels are made of or coated with.
jw5876
They're alloys and they look like they have little white mark's on them.
Mississippi Bullfrog
I suspect those white bits are corrosion rather than salt. Alloy produces white deposits where the paint / lacquer is pitted.
jw5876
If it is corrosion is there anything I can do?
BIKERDAD
I got that on my front forks I just use a wire wool to clean it off . I'm going to have them painted one day . .
fastbob
I'll go with that , fine wire wool used very gently then maybe a good bit of wax based polish to disguise the damage. Without seeing it , its hard to know what will work best . EDIT... Your wheels look like lacquered polished alloy so it is probable that salt and moisture has found its way through any minute pinholes and the rot has begun .
