CMC at Cannock and CMC at Coleshill. Both have lots of bikes but don’t know what they are like to deal with.

Just to add to this thread ... I have also have had a nightmare with superbike factory. I've been told fairytales, ignored, point blank lied to and now after producing conclusive proof to their complaints department, they are ignoring me also !

Solicitor and trading standards next ! Avoid at all costs !

I wouldn't be able to recommend them because I've never had any dealings but D&K of Newcastle under Lyme always used to have a very big selection of bikes in one place . Ok , just had a look at their website and they have changed a bit . They now describe themselves as a custom cruiser and Kawasaki specialist .

Bought a bike with 27k miles on with full service history,6month later went to do a routine service at garage, garage checked mike's and there's missing 18k miles, meaning this bike has 43k miles and now not full service history, these refuse to accept they mis sold me a bike due to the fact they never informed me of this, having to take them to court to reject bike as they won't let me,plus I'm entitled to compensation for mis selling and for all the repairs I have done since getting this due to miles.
Keep away, they will agree to you buying anything but won't accept responsibility after.

Looks like you have a good case. Do you have legal cover on your home or bike insurance it may be worth checking?

Only ever used them as a place to look and get a feel for the different bike styles, I've not heard good things when it comes to buying from them. The staff are really nice to talk to but I do think it's a case of get them in, make them shine and sell them on as fast as they can!

There's a new player in the market place called Completely Bikes . This is the Hinckley branch but they tell me that they have ambitious expansion plans . I liked the fact that there was room to walk around every bike .

Farcical

Do not, can’t empathize enough, not buy with this dealership. If you have no other option and your a first time buyer or lacking bike knowledge, be sure to take someone with you that does. If you do buy, but you shouldn’t, get the extended warranty cause if something is wrong with the bike & you have to act upon The Consumer Rights Act 2015 (which bare in mind is in there own contract agreement) they will make it a shit show to do right. Customer service is piss poor; little to zero response to emails. You’ll find yourself talking to yourself. They will try shift blame on to you or the manufacturer, & if it’s a manufacturer issue they’ll try off load the work of getting in contact with them (manufacture) on to you to see if your chump enough to take on that burden.

Take your chances I guess but approach with caution, take a knowledgeable head & keep your fingers crossed you don’t run in it any issues.

Ps

Don’t buy lexmoto;

Battery wasn’t fitted correctly(SBF) > AA solved

False neutral > on going

Clutch lever screw fell out > AA solved

Chain came off whilst riding > AA solved

Engine ignition light > on going

Part of handle bar broke away > on going

Gear/chain/clutch? Fault > AA recovery to house

New radiator & chain needed.

Exhaust cover fell off

Side mirrors constantly change position whilst riding

Im being lazy and cant be bothered to read all 5 pages.  Do I assume were talking about both the macc and the donnington showrooms being rubbish?  Ive only been to the macc one and was severely disappointed.

Pictures online very much did not match what you see face to face or face to bike haha

I don't get any of this . You have all the time in the world to inspect the bike , Lexmoto or otherwise , before you buy it . And as soon as you get it home it's your bike and it's your responsibility to sort it out mechanically . That means getting a spanner and tightening up bolts . The clutch lever screw fell out because you didn't check it and tighten it . Same with the chain and exhaust cover and anything else that you have allowed to fall off because of mechanical negligence . Sorry mate but it's called taking responsibility ..

Obviously (or maybe not) I don't pay much attention to these sorts of places, but, I do remember not so long ago.. there were dealerships that dealt mainly in auction bikes.

At one time dealerships could never hope to display all the bikes they got as trade ins, some were simply too small. for example and didn't have the space. So the bikes went to trade auction and were bought up mostly by dealerships that specialised in selling second hand bikes only. There were quite a few such places. Im pretty sure CMC operated under that model. I know the bike I bought from them was originally a trade in from a BMW dealership. And CMC were not a BMW franchise.

So, you get these dealerships full of bikes from all sorts of brands and on-site mechanics with across the board experience, but perhaps lacking the specialist knowledge and some of the special tools or currently software, that they really needed. So.. bikes would be prepared to the absolute minimum required to get through an MOT and then sold on. And given all that is it really a surprise that some these bikes have hidden gremlins? An emphasis on having the bike looking good and hopefully last through the rather short warranty period. Before these gremlins raise their ugly head with a problem. Too bad if this problem occurs after the warranty ends!!

If I could offer any advice then it would be, visit these places by all means. They usually have a wide of choice of bikes all under one roof. But... leave your wallet at home. Don't be tempted by that shiny looking bike and the attractive finance terms. If you absolutely must buy via a dealership.. and there is nothing wrong with that. Decide on what bike you really want. For example. A Honda CB500. And go to a Honda Dealership. They will at least have all the back-up you might need. The bike will very likely be known to them. They sold it in the first place. Decide if you want to use their finance company, or if you want to arrange a loan yourself through your bank.

But.. leave these bucket shops alone.

As @Gerontioussays wouldn't buy from them but worth going to see the variety of bikes, pretend you are interested and sit on as many as you can to see if it's for you. A certain vlogger has superbike shop as his sponsor I don't think that's a wise idea looking at their reviews. Proves sometimes people will advocate anyone for a few quid!
