daffers Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 My SV1000s is due for it’s first MOT at the end of April. It’s currently got Arrow cans on that I fitted last year (oh, ok my mate fitted them for me really  ). Does anyone know if the original cans need putting back on for the MOT or should it get through ok ?? There are no stamps on them.Cheers Quote
Voodoo Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Should be okay, as long as it doesn't say, Not For Road Use Quote
Guest akey Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 MOTs the gen!OK the gen for noise on MOTs is that it is down to the ear of the tester unless the cans are stamped RACE USE ONLY or NOT FOR ROAD USE.Even if cans are marked with BS or E marks they can still fail (if they are to loud - usually down to modification). The tester will run the bike and rev it, it is then down to him to judge if they are excessivly noisy or not, with one of 3 options:To loud - failNoisy - cautionary on the MOT (not a fail, this is what i have!)Pass.I would take it in and see what they say some test centres will pass it anyway some are really hard over now.
