bike alarm

don't know if i've already asked this but

my bike has a spyball alarm fitted. The fob battery seems to be dead, and there is a funny box with a dial 0 - 1 - 2 taped to the break wire at the handle bar.

1) If i turn the dial the bike beeps at me...........

2) If I leave the bike and come straight back.............

ie arrive home - turn engine off - get keys and unlock garage - go back to the bike, there is nothing therer to start it until i turn the dial and back. (does that make sense???)

unfortunately i don't have any instructions or knowledge of how good or bad thse alarm systems are....all help is welcome.

thanks

the bike is 94 an the alarm could have been fitted at any time during it's life...................

I keep thinking of just changing the battery in the fob and see if it works................. but then the common sense hits home with the what ifs.......

I've got visions of it not replacing the battery and then the bike not working.......

:? :? :? :? :?

I might call him and see what he thinks..
