ok I know this should be in the help section,, but thought I might get a quicker response on here,,,


Rover 75, had it for 3 years has all ways started first time, till now, starter turns the engine fine but just dead, fuel & pump OK, Spark & plugs OK,,,,, ECU, a Scensor or ????????? any ideas

It's a rover, they're horribly unreliable cars!


Does the engine turn over at all? Have you checked the spark plug cables are all securely fastened on top of the plugs.

Thanks guys problem solved


Now running, 2 items in the fuel tank No 1 fuel pump, No2 a thing called an intemsifier that maintains a constant fuel pressure to the engine. so No2 was the problem, now sorted

Get yourself an OBD cable and some software ;)


If anything, you save your self the £70 diagnostic fee from the stealer.

They are?? Feck, better tell my car then. Had it over a year, and got one dead battery.. Original one died, it had only been on there for 110k though, on a 51 plate car.


Bit of an over generalisation Bikelegal. Normally a vehicle is only as reliable as the care you give it.
