Guest Posted June 1, 2008 Share Posted June 1, 2008 Can anyone please give some advice ,bike has been stuck in my shed for 3 years untill now, drained fuel replaced battery and spark plugs filled with new fuel it starts and ticks over but wont rev and i've noticed only one side of the engine and silencer is getting hot the other only warm can anyone give me advice .thanks. Chrissb6 Posted June 5, 2008 Share Posted June 5, 2008 Hi, first remove the spark plug and check for a spark, once thats proven check the fuel system, as said previously. Note: unleaded fuel is a nightmare in stored bikes. i was told not to drain the system, but to run the engine on a regular basis, draining the carbs leaves a residue in the galleries and also glues up the jets, you can end up wanting a new carb.A bike stood for 3 years l would change all the fluids, oil, water and brakes.
