E10 Fuel - be warned...

Don't spill E10 on any paintwork which isn't lacquered.....as it acts as a paint stripper...

Took the tank off the GT to check the coils and fuel leaked from the tap over the gearbox casing...not a happy person now.  Worse than brake fluid.

I'm not a chemist, but have gathered that the increase in ethanol is the problem...and it can dislodge any debris in the tank & cause fuelling issues due to blocked jets..........

Hi @Turbogirlie, don't think your GT750 would be compatible with E10 fuel!! Bit to old, I may be wrong, but I would be very wary of using it.

Don't worry me none , a Harley Davidson with run on Kentucky Bourbon , yes siree Bob .

Bloody expensive/ Best set up your own moonshine still - it can’t be hard, look at the Rednecks that do it on the tele, not a shared brain cell between them !!

The link really is useless (have checked this out before) so don't know why the government put that up as it basically says, check with the manufacturer.  As for compatibility - I seriously doubt that this stuff is any good for any vehicle, as it will drag all the crud out of a tank through the fuel system...even on a modern vehicle.  Just don't spill it on paintwork which isn't fuel proof...

Diesel doesn't work too good in them as one of our group found out last night

Your older vehicle will still run on e10 but it has the potential to dissolve the fuel lines and seals slowly .

Creating the risk of a leak and potential fire and risk of poor engine performance .

When I tried this for my bike it advised me to ask the manufacturer.  I am glad you got a better result than I.  No offence was intended, just found the link itself to be vague when I used it before.

After rebuilding my Honda, I filled with that E10 watered down crap... the bike runs, but it doesn't like any throttle...

Now I'm reading that E10 is no good for Carb'd bikes... so after rebuilding the carb, i'll top it off with Super Unleaded.

If your bike is running badly after a rebuild it won't be E10 fuel that is the problem!

I can’t honestly say I’ve noticed any difference with how my bike runs. Or the car. However the exhaust down pipes had a slight blue tinge. And that is becoming more noticeable. Might have nothing to do with E10 at al. But I’m thinking that the bike might be running even more lean. And they seem to be set up lean anyway to get through emissions regulations.

My Honda runs fine on E10. The Triumph is also fine. In fact it seems to run better on E10 than premium E5.

I wonder if this could be a way around it.

just not sure if I want to spend all that time in this process unless when storing the bike for winter as alternative to remove all the fuel from the tank and put it back when I go on a ride.

Why bother? If you're worried just fill with premium E5 before laying it up. I've never had any issue with E5 left over the winter.
