Scotland - Outer Hebrides Trip (some videos and the creation of the Boondock Puffins)

Recommended Posts

Hello all!

My wife and I are starting up a motorcycle brand/club/media and are starting with simply making videos around motorcycle trips, reviews etc. We are 29 years old, and have been biking a few years now, and are really trying to spread the joy of biking to all (we seem to see very few young bikers out and about!)

Here are are first few videos of our trip to the Outer Hebrides below:

Please do consider subscribing to the channel if you enjoy the footage, it would help us hugely to grow and continue to produce fun, engaging videos to help grow the motorcycle community further!

Thank you,

Boondock Puffins

Very nice . I did the Hebrides by bicycle a few years ago . Started at Fort William , Mallaig , Skye , Uig , round North Uist anti clockwise , down to Eriskay , across to Barra and across to Oban . I go to Scotland by motorcycle most years too . Nice videos but some explanation of the logistics would be helpful.

Thank you! That sounds like a great trip, very impressive that you powered it yourself!

Thank you for the feedback, we intend on doing a few videos on what/how we packed and the route that we took, ferries we got etc.

Your trip sounds awesome! Totally agree about the joy of finding new camping spots. We didn't manage to get to Poolewe - went on a trip to visit friends on the other side of Inverness when we came back into Ullapool, and then coming back across we went to Shieldaig down through Applecross and round to Plockton. The map on the front of the video gives a reasonable outline of our route, but we're planning on making a more detailed explanation of where we went, what ferries we took and which were the best roads! We had a great chat with a fellow biker (who was sadly in his car this summer) who gave us some local recommendations for good roads to hunt down and quiet spots to wild camp too, so we will try to include those too. Off the top of my head, they included the A832, Gairloch, Kylesku Bridge and Unapool, as well as the A87 to Invergarry - we didn't manage to get to them this trip but hope to next time!
