Things kids say

As the title.

Yesterday me and my 7 year old grandson were watching a programme about the Pikes peak race, they were talking about one of the cars, a 550hp Audi A3 and grandson just comes out with "Jesus, that's fast".

Couple of years ago same grandson and me were watching the full moon rising.

I said "50 years ago, men flew in a rocket and landed on the moon"

"Are they still there" he asks.

"No, they had to come back because they run out of food and water" I reply.

"And pudding?" he asks.

"Yes mate, I guess they probably did"

As a small child we were holidaying in Criccieth North Wales & on a day trip to Caernarfon Castle, I piped up with “We must be nearly there, I just saw a sign for Caernarfon toilets”

Mum & Dad Burst out laughing… the sign said ‘Caravans To Let’ went down in family folklore.

We were going round ruined remains of Criccieth Castle when my younger brother - probably about 5 at the time - asked, "Where are they?" whilst looking very disappointed.

My Dad replied - "Where are who?"

"All the dead soldiers."

Not small kids, two 16 year olds at work a few weeks ago.

1st one says to me:  how long for the battered sausage?

Me: a couple of minutes

2nd one: what does that mean?

Me: a couple of minutes, TWO minutes

1st one: oh, so does a couple mean two?

:bang:

Probably wrong thread, I should of put it in knob(s) of the day!!

They are probably friends with a supermarket's till operator that had to ask, "What is this?"

"A turnip...." 🙄

"Really, never saw one before."

Then I gave up. 🤭

I was in a boatyard where they were doing major restoration on a classic wooden boat. And alongside the craft was the timber which had been sawn and stacked with spacers. … anyway there were two teenagers mooching around on bicycles. And I heard one say to the other “that’s not proper wood. It’s just an old tree which has been cut up!”
