Matt88
Hi everyone, hope you're all well, I've been doing research and have decided to go for a second hand retro Japanese bike as my first bike after my CBT; I was initially considering a 125 Van Van or 125 marauder but I'd struggle to get these down the alley way next to my house (about 790mm clearance) and I don't have a front garage, then I saw the Honda CG 125's from the late 70's / early 80's and really like the look of their retro cafe racer type styling and I've heard they're reliable and easy to fix, I don't really like the idea of ECU's and electronics that can go wrong. Would one of these be a good first bike for around £1000 - £1500? I only live up the road from where this one is advertised, 1981 with 80,000 on the clock (see link), not sure how often the oil has been changed though, if you could give me some advice that would be great. https://www.gumtree.com/p/honda-motorbikes/classic-cg125-honda-/1424262732 Many Thanks Matt
iangaryprice
looks like it is fairly good conndition. 80,000 miles is huge mileage fro a single cylinder 125. Is it correct or a typo? Oil changes are very frequent, no proper oil filter, just a gauze screen, oil change 1,000 miles. Don't be too worried about ECU's and electronics, they are generally very reliable on most jap bikes.
