Admin
The 2022 Indian Scout Rogue in Storm Blue has a starting MSRP of $11,499. (Indian Motorcycle/) Indian Motorcycle has just pulled the cover off of the latest addition to its Scout lineup: the 2022 Scout Rogue and Scout Rogue Sixty. Defining the new Rogue’s aesthetic are a quarter fairing, mini apehanger handlebars, a new solo seat, and cast 19-inch front wheel. Both Rogue and Rogue Sixty models share this accessory suite, but are differentiated by the available color options, tank badges, and more importantly, the 69ci engine in the Scout Rogue, and the model-name-inspiring 60ci engine in the Sixty. Scout Rogue models start at $11,499, and the Rogue Sixty starts at $9,999. Since its introduction in 2015, we have appreciated the Scout model as a somewhat traditional cruiser with approachable ergonomics and a muscular liquid-cooled engine. In Cycle World’s performance testing, a 2020 Scout Bobber produced a measured 82.9 hp at 8,000 rpm, and a 2020 Scout Bobber Sixty produced 67.83 hp at 7,140 rpm. The Indian Scout Rogue Sixty looks almost identical to the Scout Rogue, just without the name “Scout” on the gas tank. (Indian Motorcycle/) A chunky 16-inch front tire has been a part of prior Scout models’ signature aesthetic, but that can have a negative effect on handling. “The only caveat with fatter tire width is it contributes to more unsprung weight, and in turn heavier steering,” we said in our 2020 Scout Bobber Sixty review. In turn, we’re excited to see how the new 19-inch front wheel affects handling performance. Indian’s announcement says, “Scout Rogue exudes performance,” and “bears new “performance-minded features,” though all engine, suspension, and braking components are unchanged from other models in the Scout line. Aside from the larger front wheel, all of the Scout Rogue’s defining components can be bought as individual accessories through indianmotorcycle.com. Both the 2022 Indian Scout Rogue and the Indian Scout Rogue Sixty come equipped with a new cast 19-inch front wheel. (Indian Motorcycle/) Rogue models don’t revolutionize the Scout line but they do offer a head start for any customer who may be after this sort of customization. The new bike’s styling is right in line with current trends in the cruiser market, following the recent announcement of the Harley-Davidson Low Rider ST with its similar headlight accessory and wheel sizing. In all previous variations, the valve covers on the Scout Sixty’s cylinder heads are blacked out and contrast cut, and the 69-inch Scout’s are fully polished, but on these models’ engines there is no visible difference. This may be a deterrent for buyers of the full-sized model, as it looks like the smaller and more affordable models.
