Guest
i can hear a loud clicking sound on my bike, usually when i hold the clutch in , because the engine goes quiet , on my left hand side. Its louder when i go around corners. My dad says this is the floating sprocket that holds the chain on thats onthe engine, could this be right? if so any other ideas? Also, My clocks are horrible, the speedo and rev counter bounce around like crap, and this is the 4th we've had, at 75 pounds a piece its starting to get annoying. Any ideas also? cheers.
Voodoo
Sprockets don't float, its discs that float. As for the bouncing rev and speedo needles, I don't think you can really cure them. What bike is it by the way?
Guest
What bike do you have fella?? Do you have a cam chain tensioner on it?Could be the clutch cage rattling. And for your clocks. Theres no cure tbh, happens on lots of bikes. Matty
Guest
yeah what bike ? no such thing as 'floating' sprockcam tensioner on right usually-- and if he pulls in clutch the cage/basket noise should reduce imocould the speedo cable need lubricating ? and are you saying you have bought 4 rev counter dials --why ?what nick is chain in--could be a seized link or maybe a broken sprock toothenail in the tyre
Stu
if the rev counter is bouncing all over ie not reading the correct revs while riding then it will be an electrical problem i had it on my zxr400 used to go off the clocks and all sorts of weird stuff cleaned up all the electrical connectors and earths and it was as good as new
