manxie49 Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Only ever been a couple of times but it used to be brilliant .... Not sure about the new dedicated parking area, I've heard from other bikers that it isn't good! However, I've never used it so don't know https://www.visordown.com/news/general/motorcycles-be-banned-street-parking-stratford?amp&fbclid=IwAR3y5aPf3vDV3EPkwdrEmjlEncMcRLUkSG2Mwnx7figN9-x4gVUZZPQRZdk Quote
billy sugger Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 It's covered by lots of cctv, but it still did not some scrote busting off my tax disc holder (that was meant to be theft proof!), and it's easy to get in and out of 1 Quote
Bender Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Best off finding another village that wants the money and send the cafes and shops a nice pic 2 Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 They did the same in Chester recently. As a result the many bikers who used to visit and support the local cafes go elsewhere now. 2 1 Quote
manxie49 Posted February 11, 2022 Author Posted February 11, 2022 160 parking spaces with 30 ground anchors ..... That math doesn't really equate! ...... I agree with Bender f--- Em! Go elsewhere. 1 Quote
onesea Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 One of the reasons I ride bikes is the ability to visit places and park conveniently…. There are places you visit because they are a nice ride and you can meet other bikers… Dedicated parking in a multi story car park with bikes out of sight for scrotes to attack doesn’t do it for. If bike parking isn’t appropriate or nice I will just ride past, there will be somewhere nicer round the corner. I believe Matlock bath learned it’s lesson? And revoked some of its changes. Swanage got funny about bike parking, I no longer visit. 1 Quote
billy sugger Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 To be fair the Stratford bike park has been open for a good while now, but bikers still parked close to the river Avon, and they were taking up a lot of space, so I can understand the ban Quote
MikeHorton Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 At least decent provisions have been made. I know the shops like the bikers and the one cafe used to give discounts too. Sounds like the council still want to welcome the bikes just not right by the river. I remember years ago Bewdley along the Severn just stopped all the bike parking and made no provisions local tradespeople moaned about the bikes then moaned about the lost trade after least this seems to had an element of planning and thought Quote
