Helmets are uncomfortable !

Hi there.

My girlfriends helmet hurts her after about 40 mins riding. We picked the size she has cause the next size up was too big and we thought that this size would give a bit.

1 year on it is still giving her some pain on longer journies. Does anyone have any advice on trying to make this more comfortable?

Many thanks, Craig

Agreed - Take the helmet and find a Princess that fits it - bit like Cinderella

Seriously, buy another helmet. If the one she has is causing problems she will be the wrong shaped head for it.

Get to a big retailer (Hein Gericke, J&S etc) and try loads of different ones on her noggin.

Fit is more important than price.

If you start messing about with the inner of a lid (i.e. pushing melting, pressing, cutting) then it will destroy the integrity and safety of it should mit ever need to do it's job. Not worth the risk

Is the achin around her Jaw area?? if so, tell her to shut up shouting and complaining about your riding/speed as you can't hear her anyway :!:

Cheers for the replies !

More money to spend for me then! Will have to buy another lid!

The lid is a V2 Caberg, great lid, i got the same matching one too!

Tried on loads at the time and thought that this was the right one and it would "give" a bit. I was wrong !

Take it easy,

Craig, somethings do spring to mind ...

I'm not so well up on the Caberg range - but with some makes, you find

manufactueres do:

Shell sizes: small - medium - large - extra large

And then, a range of inners - to fine tune the size if necessary.

For instance - I wear a large Arai, with a medium size liner ....

It gives that bit more precision to the fit.

The first thing you could do then would be to see if the Caberg has

removeable padding... It might not if it was cheapish lid, but it's worth having a look ...

Failing that, what's your budget for a new lid :?: :?: :?:
