Bill_on_a_bike
Since i bought my bike it has had its start button held in place with a lump of duct tape, which has served me well, however, i would like to replace it with something more attractive. I thought a simple "push to make" switch would do the job, but looking at the wiring diragram for the starter circuit in my bike, it needs a switch which in a diagram looks like an emergency stop button, except it only connects the circuit momentarily obviously.I can't find one of these anywhere, and i can't find a switch gear unit that's as old as my bike.Any ideas? DutchMick
I cant think of anything other than calling round some bike scrappers in your area.
Bill_on_a_bike
Just phoned some breakers, one had one but it was for a newer model SR. This is the other annoying thing is mine is old enough to have an old fashioned kill switch and start button, and the throttle is all part of the same housing. So short of replacing the entire right handle bar with newer switches and a newer throttle, they're not much good to me.

Bill_on_a_bike
Good news, i went back to the haynes manual and looked in the "post 1991 models" (ie mine) section, and in there the wiring diagram shows the start button to be a basic on off switch. When i'm feeling brave i'll have a bit of a dismantle and see how the land lies.
