Evs7
With the news that there may be a MotoGP race in Hungary in 2009 (btw the circuit layout looks pretty damn amazing)http://www.motogp.com/en/photos/2008/Balaton+ring+project+unveiled+for+projected+Hungarian+Grand+PrixDo you think it's time we had a brand spanking new circuit in the UK? Every square inch seems to be used at present for new houses or housing developments.Don't you think a new circuit would be a good idea? Guest
They spent £4M on this and it looks stunning! new clean smooth tarmac and nicely groomed grass http://www.angleseycircuit.com/only live about 15 miles away
Guest akey
I dont think we need a new circuit, there is nothing wrong with the circuits (as in the tarmac or shape) its just the surrounding facilities that need updateing.
nigelwood1
A lot of the tracks in england could do with a bit of updating...Mainly in the facilities surrounding them... Went to Thruxton earlier in the year and it looks like its stuck in a 70's time warp...Problem is there is not enough money at a lot of these tracks to be able to make any changes.. Hoody
Not enough money in motorsport or interest in this country to build another new circuit.Rockingham was an ambitious project to revitalise the scene and that's largely been a flop, even given it was designed for both Oval and short circuit (like Indianapolis!) to have best of both worlds. It'sfairly centrally located for both north and south, and the facilities were 21st century. There is money in the sport, but it is held by the corporations. What we need really is government investment and profile raising like other countries get and proper development programmes to support new blood.Hell we don't even do that for the 'popular' stuff like athletics etc. so what chance does non environmentally friendly motorsport have?Like has been said, there are some cracking circuits in the country that just need investment in the facilities - Donington should be first class when it's done, sits in a natural bowl, good views for everyone etc.Silverstone has lost out through unfulfilled promises Viva Donington!
