Guest Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 Have a look at MM ..,http://www.machinemart.co.ukThey've also got a good technical helpline - which you could make use of even if you weren't going to buy off them ...Other thing - resist the temptation to do a slight upgrade - in the long run its often false economy - buy something nice and big from the offset, then you'll be set up and won't need to phooque about in the future ... Guest Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Ed i have been looking for a while now andwhen the new Machine Mart opened in Warrington i remembered your advise from the Hydrolic ramp thread so heres what happened Letter sent to machine mart I would like to complain about the poor service I received from the Warrington branch of Machine Mart.I visited the store on Thursday 3/5/07 with a view to spending about £300 on a air compressor however as I didn’t really know which machine to go for I asked the assistant called Lee for advise, he must have been having a bad day as he was not interested in talking to me I was just given a catalogue and told there all over there, so I went and had a look but I was still confused as you have so many to choose from (that’s why I like Machine Mart you always have so much choice) , anyway I went back to Lee to ask again now he wasn’t busy he was just sticking stickers on paper but he ignored me again, so I asked him again which model had what features I told him again what it would be used for but again he just said well they all do the same thing at this point I realised I was wasting my time so I gave him one more chance to help by saying are you interested in what I have to say or not , he never replied, so I assumed Lee hasn’t a clue about the products you sell or he is a very rude man, I left the store disgusted in the way I had been treated. I’ve been a user of your products/services for a long time and up until now have always regarded you are an excellent retailer. I have every faith therefore that you will do what you can to rectify this situation. reply recieved from Machine MartDear Mr JohnsonPlease be assured we have taken note of your correspondence and the issues you raise. We were most concerned and indeed disappointed to learn of the after-sales service you were the recipient of during your visit to our recently opened new store in Warrington. On behalf of Machine Mart please accept sincere apologies for this regrettable matter and for any upset caused as a result.Great care is taken in providing excellent service to all customers and we are naturally anxious the high standards set by this Company are strictly maintained. Given the points raised we would agree that we have fallen below the standard of service that our customers have come to expect and indeed that we expect from all of our staff members. In view of your comments be assured that this incident will be fully investigated and steps taken to eliminate any reoccurrence. Feedback from our customers is very important to assist in our efforts to offer a second to none professional service. We wish to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to write and for bringing this to our attention. If you are still interested in our range of compressors we would like to recommend to you our Technical Support Department on 0870 770 7810 who would be able to assist in your decision.Should you decide to purchase a compressor we would of course be happy to offer a delivery at a reduced charge. We trust that this offer is accepted in the spirit intended and that this regrettable incident does not deter you from remaining a valued customer of Machine Mart.Again please accept our sincere apologies.Kind regardsClare A Maxwell-Ingham (Mrs)Customer Care AdministratorI went back in at the weekend and the same pratt is still there so i walked back out cant be arsed talking to the prick,i know all stores wont be the same so i'm going to have a look at a few more stores soon Quote

Guest Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Thats a right bummer I'd have blown my stack first time round, and asked for the manager ....Some of the staff at one of my local bike shops are like that ....Its a pity, cos they're usually not bad at MM ...They did misinform me about the delivery for my bike lift - they said that it would be delivered by 3 people because of health and safety, but when the van rolled up it was just a courier, ie ONE bloke not three, so getting it into my garage was quite an ordeal ... Whether that was a deliberate lie though I don't know...................Write another letter/e-mail em again??? I would .......................... Quote
