jpow112
I've just got a tank bag and it does the job. My rucksack was good, but was getting v hot in the humid weather, with the back protector pushing into my clothing...with the tank bag, the air can flow through the jacket vents and keep my back cool..wish I'd got one 3 months ago... jpow112
it's just big enough to take my macbook in its neoprene sleeve, it lies obliquely, but that's fine.If you need you can unzip another part of the bag which adds about 4cm to the height. The retaining straps stay on the bike unobtrusively when you remove the bag, which is just as quick as taking a rucksack off your back..Its a BMW autorad tankbag - nicely made. it feels much better to ride the bike without a weight on my back, and I'm not really aware of the bag under me, it's out of my field of vision. the clear map pocket on top will take my iphone so I can use its GPS - I'm a bit of a gadget man.... I can agree with the back heat though nice n sweaty! personally if the tankbag is of the magnetic type i would not use it for carrying a laptop or any other device thaty can be affected by strong magnets camera/mobile phone/even wallet with c cards in it unless they are near the top well away from mags .... jpow112
my bag is held on by straps, not magnets. what appears to be a fuel tank on the f800s is a falsie - the tank is under and slightly ahead of the seat..

This is a bit of a myth. Any component that's vulnerable to magnetic fields, require levels of magnatism only possible in laboratories with huge electromagnets. Even the biggest perminent magnets won't screw things up.
Guest
hmmm not sure as have had issues with Parking tickets that have the black stripe down back after being in a mag tank bag , have wiped a debit card and also not tank bag related but mag related when i Paris afew years ago my ex kept her Metro ticket on her Handbag but everytime we went to use the metro her ticket would not work in the machine as the bag had a mag catch and every time she put the ticket in the bag it wiped the fooker i thonk we had to change ti about 4 times before we realised what was happening .and now im not taking the risk of wiping the photos and that on my camera or such like
