nuttidave
Whats the best way to lift a bike up off the ground and hold it there to clean and lubricate the chain for instance if one only has a side stand and not a centre stand? Thanks
Korben
Paddock stand!!Not too expensive, easy to use and trust me, you will use it alot!! Purchasing a front paddock stand to go with my rear one soon. You can get universal ones or ones that are specific for your make and model of bike.I have a Univeral one. Works a treat!! nuttidave
do you guys use a swing arm stand or axle nut stand? as the left hand nut on my bike is very small (the sort where you loosen the right and tap it through).
jimsoon
i bought a paddock stand today, i had to take the rear tyre to get repaired and last night i took it off with the bike on 2 axel stands, it wasnt very fun!so when i got my wheel back i bought the paddock stand, i got one that sits under the swing arm, but it keeps sliding forward on the one side, it had little pads on but they came off pretty quickly. Manageed in the end though, 10mins to get it off 1hour to get it back on! Can i change the 'holders'(?) to the bobbin type? and if i do do this where do i mount the bobbins on the bike? and how will i get the wheel off if the bobbins are on?HELP! Guest akey
jimthe bobins usually fit into threaded holes somewhere on the swingarm, not the axle nut.not sure of where it will be on each bike and not all bikes have them.http://www.motorcycleworldl-spa.co.uk/images/uploads/SL17R.jpgThe larger ones that fit through the rear axle are generally crash protection bobbins not lifting ones.
