Guest
Hi you all,my name is Alex, I am from Germany, and currently making some plans for 2009.I'd like to tour the UK and Ireland.I think it is a good idea to also visit a motorbike-meeting.Back home in Germany it is easy to find the right party - but for England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales - in alphabetical order - I haven't found the right place to look.So here I am asking you:Where have you been this year ?What is a good party to go to ?Can you share a link maybe with some pics ?So what kind of party am I looking for?- Preverbly no meeting dedicated to a specific bike or model- Possibly nothing focussed on anything build in the US.- Maybe some live music- Food & drinks (did I really have to mention that?) - Some entertainment? Games? i.e.slowrides; Contests? Best bike? Best modified?Something like that.I'd rather go to a smaller meeting than a big funfair with the Harley-showtruck if you know what I mean.So if you can share a link or point me to the right page of where to look - that would be great !Thank you in advance, Alex

Korben
Hi MateI will give you a couple of things close to me.A place called MFN on a Wednesday night. http://www.mfn-club.co.uk/ Any bikes welcome, and on a sunny night, it's good.Matlock Bath. This is one of the most popular places in the country on a Sunday for bikes. If it's a hot day you will struggle to move without walking into a bike!! It's somewhere every biker should go at some point!! http://www.derbyshireuk.net/matlock.html This is not the best web page, but you should be able to find out more by searching for "Matlock Bath"The Cat & Fiddle Pub.This is a pub out near Buxton. The road this pub on is one of the best strips of road in the country. Bikers come here a lot. This web page shows the road. http://www.rigsville.org.uk/roads/catandfiddle.aspLastly have a look at this. It's still in the planning stage, but it's going to be good!!viewtopic.php?t=9845Hope this helps!!
Susieque
Do you have any dates in mind? We are having a Rally next year - the date isn't definite yet though. Maybe youi could time your trip so that you are able to join us! What we're planning would fit in with the sort of thing you are looking for!! rollazuki
Id make sure the travel dates coincide with the Isle of Man TT races. Its the best trip you will ever make. Maybe you have been I dont know, but Id recommend a week there. Pretty much no speed limits, bikes and madness everywhere. After that, places like Matlock Bath,Ace cafe etc are all good. They tell me the Motorcycle museum in Birmingham is good, and Maybe you can arrange a Triumph factory visit. Ive been and its worth a look. All the best with the tripRolla
Guest
IM with Rolla, the IOM is awesome.the roads are fantastic and the lack of a speed limit is a huge buzz....its crackers.MCN weekend is good , but not really a rally. The Bulldog is a good do. Lots of beer and rock!

Guest
Hey all, thanx for your replies.Seems that with my limited english I have misled some of you. What I am looking for are the events that start on a Friday an end on a SUnday (or Monday ?)From the responses I read - you call that a "Rally". Right?I feel really stupid asking this kind of questions but there are so many idioms that you use that no teachher will teach us over here.@GAZ: The Farmyard Party - that looks great !IOM - honestly - is not what I am looking for because thats a full week by itsself. And I hate to be late for such an event. My idea is to come to England - cruise around for a few days and then have a real nice party !Wales is what I really do want to see (Cat&Fiddle Pass - Peak District), Scotland, Yorkshire I have learnt must be very nice - and a stop over in Stourbridge - I have been there on a student exchange in the mid 70sThe date for my trip is not yet fixed. I have a family appointment I may not miss in Mid June, but other than that - I will leave it up to what sounds best.So back to my original question:Are there any pages where such events are listed ?Are some of planning to go to such an event ?I know it is very early to start planning anything - its just that planning "last minute" is not the right thing to do either. So - remember this posting if you come across anything !Looking forward to a beer or 2 with you sometime in 2009 !Alex
