Guest
Hi,I'm a newbie on this website and I hope that you all out there may be able to help. I'm a total novice in all things bike related but my sisters 30th birthday is coming up.......I should say at this point she is bike crazy and has her own Kawasaki........and I am looking at getting her something special bike related. My first thoughts are a personalised helmet or jacket, any ideas/recommendations where I can go to get these? Is there anything else out there that would fit the bill? Looking to spend between £300 and £500.Many thanks,Gaz
Stu
if you dont want her to know about it then you cant get her a helmet as you have to make sure they fit properly a nice kawasaki jacket would be good or how about some advanced training for her ? or a track day ? every one benifits from these and has a good enjoyable day what model kawasaki is her bike ? Guest
cor wish I had a brother as generous as you!Custom paint jobs on lids are not cheap but really do add the personal touch. You would need to make sure what ever lid you brought was the right size, so unless you got her current lid sprayed you would be best getting her to come along to choose a plain lid so it was a safe fit and comfy (all helmets are different shapes you see).I think my friend had his sprayed for around £400 and that was on top of the cost of the helmet which was another £350.I can try and find out where he got it done for you if you like. Korben
if you dont want her to know about it then you cant get her a helmet as you have to make sure they fit properly. Shame because it's a nice idea. You could half surprise her with this though.Tell her you need to get a helmet fitted for her. Get the make, model, and size she wants, then take it off her to get it custom sprayed.Another downside is that helmets don't last forever.... Would still make a good present though. Would love it myself.Jacket would be nice as well. Portrait of her on her bike. A good idea might be to just turn round and ask what she wants that's bike related and tell her how much she has to spend. That sort of money handed to a biker is a dream!!! Guest
Ahh right, interesting. Thought I could just get the same sized helmet as she's currently using, the more I think about it though that could indeed a bit a problem if it's not exactly the same.Cheers for the advice on that, may take her shopping for a new helmet then and then surprise it with the paintjob... Will have to see.Thank's Pete247 for the Rich-Art Concepts link. Will have a look and contact him. He's done some very nice ones in the Gallery.Love the idea Korben about the Portrait... She's just been on a road trip and came back with some cracking pics of her on the bike so that's a good idea...Cheers for the advice everybody though! Really helped, especially with the helmet advice! Very much appriciated!
Korben
One other thing to be wary off about the helmet. I am not such which is which, but some can't be painted!! I am sure anyone who does the work will be able to tell you what's what though!!
